Fantastic location and beautiful lodge - Fantastically located lodge right on the banks of the Okavango. You can watch hippos, crocodiles, elephants, lions and much more directly from your tent or breakfast terrace from the terrace... read more overlooking Buffalo Park across the river. The tent was very spacious and very tastefully decorated. It all seemed very new, although the lodge has been in existence for 30 years. Super clean and everything there you need, even hot water bottles, which was wonderful in the cold winter nights. Hot water for the showers is only available in the evening, as a fire is lit under a boiler for hot water treatment and this is understandably not kept going all day. But we found that unproblematic. The dinner was excellent, after 2.5 weeks in various lodges in Namibia I would put the food in second place. It was better only in Uis. Dinner is served together with all guests at a large table. Although we are not usually fans of it, we liked it here because the atmosphere is very familiar and we had very nice conversations with other travelers. The Game Drive at Buffalo Park with our priceless guide Erasmus was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Lions, cheetahs, buffalo, lots of elephants and much more - it was a sensational experience.
Exceptional! - A wonderful and charming hotel where the food is taken by everyone in the evening, the chef and the cook present the evening meal personally in English and the local... read more language - in addition, it tastes fantastic!
In addition to successful game drives, there is also the adorable tableware (hand-painted) on which is served to buy, which is not inexpensive, but a wonderful memory!!!
This hotel is just charming and a must-see when in Namibia.
This hotel also has the best laundry service in Namibia!
A very special lodge on the banks of the Okavango river - Our stay at Ndhovu was a memorable experience. We were warmly welcomed by Ralph, the owner. The central lodge is a dramatic open wooden structure and terrace overlooking... read more the Okavango river, with magnificent views of buffalo and elephants on the opposite bank. We stayed in the campsite, which was in a beautiful, peaceful spot from which we could appreciate the birdlife and enjoy sunset over the river. At night we could hear the nighttime activities in the river, from the safety of the raised river bank. We had dinner in the lodge, sitting in long sociable tables with other guests. The food was delicious and creatively prepared with local game. The chef accommodated our various dietary requirements (vegetarian and gluten free) and even specially cooked a loaf of gluten free bread for us.
We wished we had had time to stay for several days at least, in order to benefit from the interesting excursions available and soak up more of the lovely atmosphere.
